Director: Abba Paul Reilly, M. Afr.
Abba Paul was appointed director of Bruh Tesfa in December 2015, having previously spent two years working at the centre between 2010 and 2012. He was born in California, USA, and was ordained a Catholic priest as a member of the Society of the Missionaries of Africa in July 2015, following time spent in Mexico, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Côte d’Ivoire.
Youth Animator: Muluken Gawo
Muluken has been at Bruh Tesfa since 2007 and is in charge of our recreational activities. His enthusiasm and imagination make him ideal for this role and he is much loved by the young people who come to the centre.
Outreach coordinator: Brhane Gebreyohannes
Brhane has been at Bruh Tesfa since 2010 and is our principal social worker in charge of our hostels and student support. Being also an ordained deacon in the Orthodox Church, he is a highly respected figure in the local community and helps us to work closely with the Orthodox clergy, who also have a huge role to play in the development of our society.
Guidance Counsellor: Memher Woldemariam Hadgu
Memher Woldemariam is a teacher and guidance counsellor at Agazi Preparatory School and acts as a link between our work and the local schools. His expertise is invaluable to us and he also acts as a mentor to our students.
Librarian and Girls’ Hostel Custodian: Meseret Berihu
The newest addition to our staff is Meseret Berihu who works as our cashier and librarian. She is also hugely important in the Girls’ Hostel programme by providing the students with a mature and responsible female role model who is always ready to give advice to those in need. Meseret lives in the Girls’ Hostel house acting both as a guardian and older sister, thus reinforcing the family atmosphere we like to foster in Bruh Tesfa.
Groundskeeper: Shishay Kidanu
Shishay Kidanu joined Bruh Tesfa in 2011 and is responsible for maintaining the beautiful grounds of our youth centre. It is largely thanks to him, to his hard work and initiative that we enjoy such a green and eco-friendly environment.
