Director: Abba Paul Reilly, M. Afr.
Abba Paul was appointed director of Bruh Tesfa in December 2015, having previously spent two years working at the centre between 2010 and 2012. He was born in California, USA, and was ordained a Catholic priest as a member of the Society of the Missionaries of Africa in July 2015, following time spent in Mexico, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Côte d’Ivoire.
Finance Administrator: Br. Clayb Caputolan
Clayb arrived in Adigrat in March of 2017 and was appointed the finance director in October. He is responsible for overseeing the financial records of Bruh Tesfa and assisting our accountant. Also a member of the Society of the Missionaries of Africa, Clayb is a Catholic brother from the Philippines, happy to be helping the youth of Adigrat at the centre.
Youth Animator: Muluken Gawo
Muluken has been at Bruh Tesfa since 2007 and is in charge of our recreational activities. His enthusiasm and imagination make him ideal for this role and he is much loved by the young people who come to the centre.
Outreach Coordinator: Abba Brhane Gebreyohannes
Brhane has been at Bruh Tesfa since 2010 and is our principal social worker in charge of our hostels and student support. Also an ordained priest in the Orthodox Church, he is a highly respected figure in the local community and helps us to work closely with the Orthodox clergy, who have a huge role to play in the development of our society.
Guidance Counsellor: Memher Woldemariam Hadgu
Memher Woldemariam is a teacher and guidance counsellor at Agazi Preparatory School and acts as a link between our work and the local schools. His expertise is invaluable to us and he also acts as a mentor to our students.
Accountant: Shewit Kahsay
Shewit is our organization’s financial accountant. She is our newest staff addition, arriving in 2018, and has been an asset since she joined. As well as presiding over our day-to-day finances and accounts, she assists Meseret in various activities with the Girl Hostel students and children that frequent the centre.
Librarian and Girls’ Hostel Supervisor: Meseret Berihu
Meseret Berihu has been with us since 2016, and works as our cashier and librarian. She is also hugely important in the Girls’ Hostel programme by providing the students with a mature and responsible female role model who is always ready to give advice to those in need. Meseret lives in the Girls’ Hostel house acting both as a guardian and older sister, thus reinforcing the family atmosphere we like to foster in Bruh Tesfa.
Electrician and Maintenance Facilitator: Merhawi Semere
Merhawi takes care of any maintenance and building need that arises in our centre. Essential to keeping our infrastructure and facilities in good condition, Merhawi allows us to ensure the centre is always running smoothly.
Groundskeeper: Goitom Girmay
Goitom joined the Bruh Tesfa staff in 2017. He maintains all of our beautiful greenery, fields, and gardens. He also engages with the youth to ensure they have all of the equipment they need.
